How we started

 

Lenise is the founder, owner and pastry chef of Lenilen Specialities.  Her inspiration and passion for baking evolved from childhood as she watched her beloved aunt, lovingly known as “Sister”, bake mouthwatering delectable treats over the years.  As a child, Lenise was given an “Easy Bake Oven,” which launched her journey creating delicious goodies for all to enjoy.  And by the time she started her family, she had already significantly honed her baking skills.

 

But Lenise didn’t stop there.  Her love and passion continued to progress, so she decided to attend the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in New York City, where she received her Pastry Chef Diploma.

 

Now, for over a decade LeniLen’s Specialties has become a flourishing home-based baking business.  Just one taste of these scrumptious sweets is reminiscent of old southern family recipes and baking traditions that have been passed down over the years.  Lenilen’s Specialities has perfected several signature delights including carrot, rum, and red velvet cakes, along with creatively decorated special occasion cakes (including weddings) … and she has a heavenly vanilla butter cream that is oh-so-tasty!
